“Alexa/Hey Siri, play Watching it burn on Apple Music!”

 Watching It Burn formed in the Summer of 2015 when local Boston area bassist, Matt Goguen, crossed paths with old friend, and veteran Boston area guitarist, Mike Burke.  The two planned a jam session and Matt reached out to friend, and local Boston area drummer, Tim Norton, to sit in on kit. With no expectations, but to have some fun, the three got together and could feel their chemistry almost immediately.  With genuine excitement, they couldn’t wait to jam again. Within a month or so, a handful of songs had been completed with a few more in the works. Having all been in several bands prior, it was well known that finding reliable musicians can be difficult. Mike, having singing experience and having already written lyrics for most of the songs, stepped up and the three decided that he should front the project. They began solidifying the songs they'd written together and within 6 months, they had enough material to take into the studio. By mid February, 2016, Mike, Matt and Tim entered the studio and began laying basic tracks for what would be their debut album and by the end of April, they had recorded and mixed 8 songs. Just barely enough material for an Extended Play, they went back to the studio and wrote and recorded 2 more songs to complete the record. The collection of 10 tracks are a body of work that they were, and still are, very proud of and feel that the songs that they wrote in the studio even sit well on that first record. This is the result of the musicianship, experience and musical camaraderie of 3 seasoned players coming together at exactly the right time.
